About Lucas + McKearn
From a relationship that started in a cab in Dallas, January 2009, a new partnership comes to fruition in the fall of 2016. Joining forces are Elstead Lighting from the UK and Flambeau Lighting of New Orleans, to create a new business “Lucas + McKearn”.
As the name suggests, the partners are Joe McKearn, who has been the well renowned leader at Flambeau Lighting of New Orleans and Jonathan & Deborah Lucas, the British husband and wife team that run their near 50 year old lighting fixture manufacturing and design company from the country village of Alton in the South of England.

Borne out of an old engineering and blacksmithing tradition, Elstead Lighting is a British company established in 1969. Nowadays they specialize almost entirely in decorative lighting, with the design and some manufacturing still taking place at their location in Alton, England. Having such a long and rich social history gives English lighting a unique and eclectic design style. Elstead reflects many of these styles in their current portfolio. Today their products are sold in more than 50 countries worldwide, bringing a taste of the period British home to a growing audience. |

Combining art and design with intriguing function, the designers at Flambeau have created a stunning collection of luminaires, accent furniture and decorative accessories. Flambeau showcases the works of renowned New Orleans designers Paul Grüer and Elaine Gleason, as well as Baton Rouge sculptor, Benjamin Burts. Each designer and artist has united sophisticated forms and shapes with distressed finishes of gold and silver patinas to create 21st Century antiques. With meticulous attention to detail and quality manufacturing, Flambeau’s lamps, chandeliers, pendants, sconces, accent furniture and accessories will add a touch of intrigue and whimsy to any room. As its name implies, the designs offered by Gilded Nola are inspired by the decorative elements of the city of New Orleans. World-famous for its abundance of unique architectural styles, which reflect the city’s historical roots and its multicultural heritage, New Orleans offers a plethora of inspiration around every corner. Gilded Nola celebrates the city’s fashion style utilizing the best components and finishing materials in the construction and build of its distinctive line. The initial collections feature mixed media including metals hand finished in distressed gold and silver patinas. |
